PSV Project Support Vehicles manufactures special vehicles and add-on solutions for the police, the armed forces, authorities and companies. One focus is our armor and fragmentation protection solutions for construction machines. We manufacture these on behalf of the manufacturer or the end customer – in series or as a single piece.
Since the risk assessment is different on every construction site, we offer the following conversion solutions.
We also offer specifically tailored solutions to your protection requirements / risk assessment.
For Liebherr machines we have the following solutions in our program:
The original windscreens are removed and replaced with a curved, one-piece windscreen. This Glass is mounted in a powder-coated armored frame that is inserted into the opening in the front of the cab. This frame is attached to the screw points of the front grille mount and can also be dismantled again. The original protective mesh option can still be installed with the PSV Conversion.
With this PSV solution, the machine operator’s field of vision is not restricted and the function of the windshield wipers, sun blinds and the interior of the cabin are not restricted.
Our windscreens are optionally available with heating, since the 39mm thick glasses are otherwise difficult to free from fogging and ice.
We have front and underfloor armor for Liebherr hydraulic excavator cabs in stock!
In addition to the front and underfloor armor according to DGUV listed above, we are installing fragmentation protection on both sides of the cabin. The opaque areas are protected with armor steel, which is protected from an angle of 45° (frontal protection 90°) against the same threat as the front and the underfloor.
The side windows of the cab are replaced with shatterproof windows made of Makrolon, which are glued into a steel frame and cannot break in the event of pressure waves or penetrate the interior.

The front of the Liebherr R922 cab is equipped with an armored frame (8mm steel) into which the 39mm thick armored glass (class B6) is glued. This sits between the A-pillars and the glass is bent in one piece. The frame bolts to the cabin and replaces the original front windows (this can be retrofitted).
Optionally, the windscreen can be designed with heating!
